Ist Spen Valley Scout Group Camping Barn

The Barn is owned and maintained by 1st Spen Valley Scout Group. It is located on the Buttertubs road, close to the market town of Hawes, very close to the Pennine Way and many other interesting local walks. It is also only 18 miles from Kettlewell.

Hawes is the home of the Wensleydale Cheese Creamery and is very close to the Hardraw Force Waterfall. In Hawes there is a selection of shops ranging from traditional sweet shops to walking equipment shops. Also a variety of cafes, pubs and a lovely fish and chip shop.

The Barn accommodates around 15 people in a mezzanine sleeping area and space for Leaders in the living area. It has a fully equipped kitchen area including Calor gas cooking facilities. A separate hallway leads to two toilets and separate wash area.

The Barn is heated by a solid fuel fire which will burn wood or coal. Fuel for the fire can be bought in Hawes or taken with you. The barn also has electricity which is powered from a petrol generator (petrol can be obtained from the petrol station in Hawes).
